Join us for a free celebration of the holiday season with Christmas on the Farm. Every year as Christmas approaches, we celebrate the season with lights, crafts, carriage rides, caroling, visits from Santa and more.

Join us for a free celebration of the holiday season with Christmas on the Farm 2024 on Friday, November 29 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, November 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Canatara Park.

Old favourites are back alongside some recently-added attractions to delight all ages including roasting chestnuts; horse and carriage rides; crafts; storytime with Mrs. Claus and more! Don’t want to find on-site parking? Sarnia Transit will run a shuttle from Northgate Terminal during the event.

Christmas on the Farm attractions

There’s plenty of holiday fun in store as the spirit of the season comes alive at Canatara Park.

Visit from Santa

Santa will also be stopping by to visit with children in attendance on Saturday, November 30 at 1 p.m.

Craft making

Make your own holiday craft or Christmas tree ornament. Hang your ornament on the event tree inside the barn, or take it home to display.

Letters to Santa

Stop by to write a letter to Santa, or bring one you’ve already written, and drop it in our mailbox for prompt delivery to the North Pole.

Cookie giveaway station

Enjoy a festive treat on us!

Train rides

Hop aboard the Children’s Choo Choo Train for a festive ride.

Storytime with Mrs. Claus

Escape the cold by the fireplace and enjoy a short story told by Mrs. Claus herself.

Children’s Animal Farm

The Children’s Animal Farm will be open with free admission throughout the event, stop in to catch up with some furry and feathered friends.

Horse and carriage rides

Tour in true holiday fashion with free horse and carriage rides.

Food and beverage station

Looking for a quick bite? Stop by the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion to grab a hot dog, popcorn, and a hot beverage. All proceeds support the animal farm and park.

Sarnia Transit event shuttle

Sarnia Transit will offer a shuttle service for the event, making trips between Canatara Park and Northgate Terminal. Regular fares apply

On November 29 the shuttle will begin service at 5 p.m. departing from Northgate. Shuttles will run every half hour with the last departing the Christina Street entrance to Canatara Park at 9:15 p.m.

On November 30 the shuttle will begin service at 9 a.m. departing from Northgate. Shuttles will run every half hour with the last departing the Christina Street entrance to Canatara Park at 2:45 p.m.

Road closure

To facilitate Christmas on the Farm, the Park Service Road will be closed west of Lake Chipican Drive on Friday, November 29 at 3 p.m. and reopened Saturday, November 30 at 2 p.m.
