Howard Watson Nature Trail Closure Delayed -Update August 4

Phase two of the City’s plan to eradicate phragmites along the Howard Watson Nature Trail has been rescheduled to August 5, 2017 due to the weather. The trail, between Retford Avenue and Exmouth Street, will be closed at 9:00 a.m. for the day.

Members of the public are asked to keep out of this area for their safety. Signage has been posted and a spotter will be on site for protection of pedestrians who inadvertently enter the trail near the work zone.


Phase two of the City’s plan to eradicate phragmites along the Howard Watson Nature Trail has been rescheduled to August 3, 2017. The trail, between Michigan Road and Exmouth Street, will be closed for approximately two days starting Thursday, subject to weather conditions.

The closure, which was originally planned for Monday, July 31, 2017, was delayed due to high winds.

Members of the public are asked to keep out of this area for their safety. Signage has been posted and a spotter will be on site for protection of pedestrians who inadvertently enter the trail near the work zone.
