Sarnia Library to Temporarily Close for Required Maintenance
By City Staff
The County of Lambton and the City of Sarnia are advising the public that the Sarnia Library will be temporarily closed for scheduled electrical and parking lot upgrades from Wednesday, November 8, 2017 to Tuesday, November 14, 2017. The facility will re-open on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
"This work to the electrical system and parking lot could not be immediately completed following the fire in July 2017 which closed the facility for a number of weeks," said Vince Wijsman, Property Manager, City of Sarnia. "The required equipment and contractors are now available and we are in a position to complete the outstanding work."
The temporary closure will affect staff and patrons as well as services and programs at the Sarnia Library, Sarnia Children's Library, Sarnia Library Theatre and Bookmobile.
Due dates for resources borrowed from the Sarnia Library are being extended until the facility reopens. Materials can also be renewed or borrowed by using online platforms available on the Library's website at www.lclibrary.ca. Patrons should note that items reserved for pickup at the Sarnia Library will not be redirected to nearby branches but are advised to select alternative branches for pickup when reserving online.
