Public Meetings Monday July 16

CITY OF SARNIA NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS

Please be advised that public meetings to consider the below-noted applications will be held by Sarnia City Council in the Council Chambers at City Hall on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.

Persons wishing to speak to these applications are requested to notify the City Clerk on or before noon Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in order to be placed on the agenda, although anyone in attendance will be given an opportunity to address Council on this matter.

 

  1. REZONING APPLICATION 6-2017-85 of 2002 is submitted by 1525 Sarnia Inc. for the subject land located at the northwest corner of Modeland Road and Berger Road.

 

The subject land is vacant, has area 6,398m2 (1.5 acres), and is zoned “General Commerical Site Zone 1-10 (CG1-10)” in Zoning By-law 85 of 2002, which permits a gas bar, restaurant, and convenience store.

 

It is proposed that the GC1-10 Site Zone be amended to permit a carwash and restaurant drive-through service facility as additional Permitted Uses. The proposed zone change would permit the site to be developed for a restaurant with drive-through, convenience store, gas bar and carwash.

 

2. Rezoning Application 16-2018-85 of 2002 submitted by Rob Panzer on behalf of the owners - 1919566 Ontario Inc. (Kongas), for the property located on the west side of Upper Canada Drive, north of Confederation Line, backs onto Highway No. 40. The land is vacant and has an area of 4.02 ha. (10 Acres).

     This application is proposing to change the zoning of the land from an Interim Use 1 (IU1) Zone to a site specific “Urban Residential 4” Zone with special site zone provisions. This rezoning is to permit a 54 lot/unit semi-detached   residential dwelling subdivision; and

 

3. Draft Plan of Subdivision Application No. SD 1-2018 proposes the development of 54 semi-detached residential dwelling lots that would be fronting onto new proposed city streets. The development of the lands is subject to the approval of the rezoning application referenced in “2” above.
