We are pleased to announce that Mr. Brian Arnold has accepted the position of Fire Chief at the City of Sarnia. Mr. Arnold will be replacing Chief John Kingyens who has announced his retirement. He comes to us from the City of Cambridge where he has been the Deputy Fire Chief for the past four years. Prior to that, he held the positions of Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Woodstock and a Fire Training Instructor with the City of London. He began his career as a firefighter at the City of Toronto, where he spent 11 years.

Mr. Arnold holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Western Ontario and has completed his NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level 4 training. Amongst other certifications and credentials, he currently chairs/sits on a number of committees including but not limited to Fire Inspection and Safety Program Advisory Committee, Voice Radio System Operational Oversight,   Emergency Management Planning Committee, and the Joint Emergency Services Operational Advisory Committee.

“Brian’s start date with the City will be June 10, 2019. We would like to welcome Brian to the City of Sarnia team and look forward to his contribution to Sarnia Fire Rescue Services,” explains Chris Carter, Chief Administrative Officer.
