  • Exmouth Street - 402 Emergency Detour Route in eff

POSTED BY My CNN - 11/23/2015 7:17:00 PM

Due to the closure of Highway 402 at the Indian Road overpass, eastbound traffic from the Bluewater Bridge has been detoured onto City Streets. This detour will be in place for the next several days while the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) completes their structural inspection and assessment of the damaged overpass. Depending on the results of the investigation the detour could be in place for a prolonged period of time. Exmouth Street is the designated Emergency Detour Route (EDR) for Highway 402. For the duration of the detour, drivers using Exmouth Street from Front Street to Indian Road should anticipate increased congestion and delays. City of Sarnia Engineering Staff will be modifying the traffic signal timings at some of the intersections in this corridor in an effort to increase the flow of traffic on Exmouth Street. We truly appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding.
