Mobility Charging Station Starter Kit Business Application
In 2016, the City of Sarnia and the County of Lambton partnered by introducing a pilot project to assist users of mobility devices such as wheelchairs and scooters with charging their devices.
“Charging Stations” were added to parks, libraries, recreation facilities and other public buildings. These stations are a worry free zone for device users to charge their devices free of charge.
In 2017, the City of Sarnia is expanding this initiative to private business. A grant is now available for business to install a charging station in their stores, markets, hotels etc.

- The charging station is planned to be installed on an accessible path of travel

- The charging station must be installed near other amenities within the building and not hidden in a back room or hall
