Marriage Licences are issued in City Hall Customer Service, 1st Floor.
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday - Friday (excluding statutory holidays).
The 2017 Licence Fee is $145.00; this fee is non-refundable, and cheques are not accepted as payment.
A marriage licence can only be issued to the applicant(s).
One applicant is able to bring in the signed marriage licence application form, along with two pieces of original ID for both applicant(s).

An appointment is not needed for a marriage licence.
Both parties must sign the marriage licence application form.
A marriage licence is valid for 3 months from date of purchase within Ontario.
ORIGINAL INDENTIFICATION MUST BE PROVIDED BY BOTH APPLICANTS.
Two pieces are required, one piece of ID must include your photo:

Valid Driver's Licence
Valid Ontario Photo Card
Native Status Card
Applicants must be 18 years of age or over. Applicants who are 16 or 17 years of age must have parental consent. Contact Customer Service for additional information. NO person under the age of 16 years may be married.
DIVORCE IN CANADA
If an applicant has been granted divorce in Canada, the ORIGINAL OR CERTIFIED COPY OF THE CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE OR DECREE ABSOLUTE must be submitted. Certified copies of the required documents may be obtained from the court that granted the divorce. A DIVORCE JUDGEMENT, DIVORCE ORDER, OR DECREE NISI IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. PHOTOCOPIES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

WIDOW OR WIDOWER
If an applicant is a widow or widower they are not required to produce a death certificate to obtain a marriage license.
