Sarnia Fire Rescue Services will be accepting applications for Probationary Firefighters January 15th – February 26th, 2018

The City of Sarnia is pleased to offer careers in firefighting.  Firefighting is a demanding profession that carries considerable responsibility to provide preservation of life, property and the environment.  Firefighters respond to fire suppressions and emergencies involving hazardous materials, high angle rescue, medical assists, water and ice rescue, and auto extrications.  Firefighters are also involved with fire safety, fire prevention, and public education duties.  Excellent listening and communication skills are essential.

Satisfaction is derived from helping others, working closely in a team environment, and working in a challenging profession.

Ontario Fire Administration Inc. and Sarnia Fire Rescue Service Partnership

The City of Sarnia has partnered with Ontario Fire Administration Inc. (OFAI) for Sarnia Fire Rescue Services’ upcoming recruitment.  OFAI provides a standardized testing approach to candidates pursuing a firefighting career in municipal fire departments across Ontario.

Applicants must complete and pass all required tests to obtain an OFAI Candidate Testing Certificate before they can be considered within the application process for Sarnia Fire Rescue Services.
