Canatara Beach


Canatara Beach
 Canatara beach is a local attraction for many individuals visiting the City of Sarnia.  The beach covers more than 3000 feet of Lake Huron Shoreline.

Late June to August 11:30am-5pm 7 days per week. 
Qualified lifeguards will help to ensure public safety in a designated area at Canatara Beach.  Please note that floatation devices are not allowed in the guarded area, lifejackets are acceptable and the lifeguard shack has lifejackets for sign out.

Beach Volleyball courts are available for public use. Nets and balls are attainable at the Lifeguard Shack for sign out.

Blue Flag Program
The City of Sarnia has entered into the pilot phase of the internationally known Blue Flag certification. The Blue Flag is an International beach certification program that ensures the designated beach meets 27 strict standards based on water quality, environmental management, environmental education, safety and service.  To learn more about this program, visit the Blue Flag website
Kenwick Beach:
Located in Bright's Grove, Kenwick Beach offers a lake swimming area.  Located across from Kenwick on the Lake Park, which has washrooms and a children's play area.
